Simone Biles talks about her first operation

In her autobiography “Courage to Depart”, Biles said as she fell short of one of her acts and pinched her ankles. Biles felt stabbing pains in her ankles during sequences or when she was tired.

Her parents decided to have an operation on her ankle and this would be Biles’ first operation. The 25-year-old gymnast was terrified of the idea and doubted she would ever return to her sport. she asked The doctor, “Will my parents be with me when I wake up??”

Doctors said her parents would not be allowed in because they wanted her to come out of the anesthetic on her own. Although Biles couldn’t have her parents with her, she kept her Christmas blanket during the surgery.

Biles had to let go of something else

After the operation, gall woke up and snuggled into her blanket. Doctors discharged her shortly thereafter with some painkillers and an orthopedic shoe. Biles was also put on crutches for a few weeks after her treatment.

Another thing Simone Biles had to let go of because of her surgery was her newly pierced belly button ring. Biles had to remove the ornament to prevent her from being electrocuted during treatment.
