Munnar is a nature lover’s delight.

Located at an altitude of 1828.8 meters in the Idukki district KeralaMunnar served as one of the summer resorts of the British during colonial times.

Munnar is home to lush green forests, beautiful waterfalls, some endangered plants and animals such as Neelakurinji and Nilgiri Tahr, and numerous spice and tea plantations.

The mountain station also offers many adventure activities for those interested.

The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, 110 km away. Munnar is just a taxi ride from Cochin.

The nearest train station is in Aluva, 110 km away. Two other railway stations, 130 km and 135 km away respectively at Ernakulam and Madurai, are operational and offer bus services.

There are daily buses, both government and private, from various parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu to Munnar.

Early summers have pleasant weather with temperatures between 19 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Munnar During the monsoon it rains heavily and is not the best time for sightseeing and activities.

But the monsoon is great if you want to have a cozy and quiet stay.

However, winter is the best time to visit Munnar. The minimum temperature can drop to 10 degrees Celsius.
